The whole area is well connected by freeways and toll ways in addition to the public transportation supplied by D.A.R.T (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) and rail transportation is supplied by the ever expanding DART light rail system in Dallas. Air travel is supplied by two area airports, DFW international and Dallas Love Field.
Dallas Attractions
Dallas has a long list of places to visit from the arts and sciences to recreational and night life. Some of the more popular attractions in Dallas are the Dallas Zoo, the Sixth Floor Museum, The Dallas Arboretum, The Dallas World Aquarium, and Reunion Tower. Located at Love Field is the Future of Flight Aviation Center. You can get your sports fix by attending the games at the American Airlines Center. The teams that play there are, the Dallas Stars, and the Dallas Mavericks, as well as many others. This venue also features other events including concerts and shows as well. The West End is a great place to experience the Dallas Night life. Another popular attraction that every one loves is the annual State Fair of Texas at Fair Park.
Where is Addison Texas?
Moving up the North Dallas Toll Way you pass through the town of Addison which has become a Mecca for dinning and night life. Addison also is home to the Addison Airport where you will find the Cavanaugh Flight Museum.
Plano is hoppin
Just a bit farther north on the toll way is the town of Plano. Home to many corporate headquarters and well noted for their schools. Plano invites you to shop and dine in the revitalized downtown shopping district that features a Dart Light Rail station. Plano also has two great shopping malls, The Shops at Willow Bend and Collin Creek Mall.. In Plano you also can visit South Fork Ranch.
Allen Is Great!
Just a bit further north is the town of Allen, home to the Allen Premium Outlets shopping mall.
McKinney is an exciting town
On up central expressway you find McKinney, one of the faster growing communities in Collin County. McKinney has the feel of a small Texas town but all of the amenities that one would expect in a big town. Shopping is a wonderful experience in the McKinney Downtown square where you can hunt for antiques then stop into one of the two wineries, Landon Winery and Lone Star Wine Cellers, for a delightful glass or two of local wine. On the weekend before the third monday of the month pay a visit to Third Mondays Trades Days to shop flea market style. At the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary, you can learn all about the native wildlife in the area. McKinney is also home to the Collin County Regional Airport that is growing just about as fast as the town.
Frisco is Fantastic!
Just west of McKinney is the town of Frisco, another fast growing community that has a lot to offer. Shop at the Stonebriar Centre then visit the Heritage Center and learn all about life on the Chisholm Trail. Watch or play soccer at the new Pizza Hut Park soccer and event complex, catch a Rough Riders minor league ball game at the Dr Pepper Ball Park or even a Texas Tornados hockey game on the Ice at the Dr Pepper Starcenter.
Lets Go to the Lake!
North Texas has a number of lakes as well from Lake Ray Hubbard on the south east side of Dallas to Lake Texoma just about an hour north of the area. In-between you can visit White Rock Lake, Lake Lavon, Lake Lewisville, And Lake Ray Roberts just to name a few.
